SearchEngineText.com is a simple, straight forward way to get an approximation of what your website looks like to the search engines. To use should be pretty obvious - enter the url you're interested in seeing, then submit. Yes, it's that easy. :-)
What may not be as obvious, is what the colors in the results mean.
Showing URL: This is the current url being shown. You can click on it to open that page in a new window. Meta Keywords: These are the meta keywords entered for the page. Meta Description: Yep, you guessed it - the meta description for the page. [name-of-file.jpg] : shows image file names in grey.
[name-of-file.jpg Alt Text In Green] : if there is alt text set for that image, it will appear in green.
[name-of-file.jpg Alt Text In Green] : if the image is hyperlinked, it will appear underlined. Blue Underlined Links : We like to keep it simple! Any text links are shown in good ol' blue underline.
And that's really all there is to it. See? That was pretty painless!
There are a number of advanced SEO features coming in v2.0 (like showing no follow links and H1 tags).
